SARAH HESSONG

Sarah Hessong was born in Kenosha, Wisconson, and then moved down south with her family at age 2 to Charlotte, NC where she spent the rest of her childhood. She attended N.C. State University and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree. After graudation, she moved to Hickory, NC and married David Hessong in 2001, where they settled to raise their family. Sarah’s primary job over the years was a stay-at-home mom to their 4 children, Anabelle, Juliette, Carter, and Porter. During that time, she also taught in a local preschool for several years, volunteered in her children’s class rooms at school, and was one of the swim coaches for the YSST swim club. In 2013, Sarah and David became members of Discovery Church and began serving regularly with the Children’s program. Then in 2014, Sarah took over the role of the Children’s Ministry Director. Outside of church, Sarah enjoys running, traveling, and watching her children play sports. Her desire for Discovery Church is to create a safe and loving environment for all children to grow in their faith in Jesus.
